It is issued in three stages according to severity: Interest, Advisory, and Warning.
According to the Maritime Police, the currently issued "Advisory" stage is a forecast level issued when there is concern about the occurrence of safety accidents and the spread of damage in coastal waters due to bad weather or natural disasters.
In response to the increased risk of coastal accidents such as falling into the sea due to bad weather, the Maritime Police are providing real-time publicity and safety information using electronic signboards of local governments and branch offices. During the advisory period, they are strengthening sea and land patrols focusing on vulnerable coastal accident sites such as ports, harbors, and rocky shores, making every effort to prevent coastal safety accidents.
