Lee Geumseon, Daejeon City Council Member, Proposes Ordinance to Support Families with Multiple Children
Passed Bokhwan Committee Review...Kkumnamu Love Card Issued
The Daejeon City Council announced that the 'Partial Amendment Ordinance for Supporting Families with Multiple Children in Daejeon,' proposed by Council Member Lee Geumseon (People Power Party, Yuseong-gu 4), passed the Welfare and Environment Committee's review on the 25th.
The amended ordinance defines the support recipients as families with two or more children, with the youngest child being 18 years old or younger, and introduces new provisions regarding the issuance and support of the Kkumnamu Sarang Card.
Council Member Lee stated, "As part of its efforts to overcome low birth rates, Daejeon City has proactively revised the standard for families with multiple children from three to two, ahead of legal amendments, and has actively pursued support policies for such families by revising related ordinances and policies. Through this amendment, we will expand the support recipients so that more families with multiple children can benefit, thereby reducing the financial burden of child-rearing and contributing to the creation of a birth- and child-rearing-friendly environment in Daejeon."
The ordinance is scheduled to be finally approved at the 3rd plenary session of the 282nd 2nd regular meeting on the 13th of next month.
