Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, participated in the ‘Organic, Eco-friendly, Returning to Farming and Returning to Rural Areas Expo’ held at BEXCO in Busan from the 21st to the 24th, actively promoting to prospective returnees to farming and rural areas.
The ‘2024 Organic, Eco-friendly, Returning to Farming and Returning to Rural Areas Expo’ featured participation from 52 local governments including Hamyang-gun, with various events such as seminars on returning to farming and rural areas and rice cake pounding experiences.

View original imageAt the expo, Hamyang-gun operated a promotional booth, providing detailed guidance on return-to-farming policies and information that address urban residents’ concerns such as housing and farmland.
Additionally, agricultural specialty products produced in Hamyang were exhibited to actively promote the excellence of Hamyang’s agricultural products and local tourism resources.
In particular, six farmers who successfully returned to farming in Hamyang-gun and are enjoying a happy life participated in consultations alongside professional return-to-farming and rural area counselors, drawing great interest and positive responses from prospective returnees visiting the expo.
One visitor who completed a consultation at the expo said, “I am preparing to return to farming after retirement, and I was able to obtain useful information from preparation to settlement,” adding, “I definitely want to visit Hamyang.”
