Gwangju-si Paldang Ae Gamgyul Wins 'Customer Satisfaction Brand Award' and Agricultural and Fishery Brand Award

Paldang Ae Gamgyul, the tangerine brand of Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan), won the grand prize in the agriculture and fisheries category at the 2024 Customer Satisfaction Brand Awards.

The event was held on the 21st at the Gyeonggi Arts Center Convention Hall.
The grand prize winner in the agriculture and fisheries category, Paldang Ae Gamgyul, is Gwangju City's tangerine brand launched in 2021. It is an eco-friendly tangerine brand cultivated around the clean area of Paldang Lake.
Since 2018 to 2019, Gwangju City successfully introduced pilot cultivation of tangerines in response to climate change and developed the Paldang Ae Gamgyul brand, utilizing it for promotion. The number of visitors to the tangerine experience farm has been increasing every year.
In particular, Paldang Ae Gamgyul is of the ‘Harye Josaeng’ variety, the first new domestic tangerine variety, characterized by higher sugar content and less sourness compared to other tangerines.
