Namyangju City to Host the '2024 Namyangju Village Community Festival'

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Ju Gwang-deok) successfully held the '2024 Village Community Festival' on the 20th at the indoor gymnasium of Namyangju Sports and Culture Center.

View original imageThis festival was an opportunity for village communities to share their achievements of the year with local residents and to activate networks. Under the theme "Stories More Beautiful Than Flowers," the event featured warm and sincere stories from the communities.
The event was attended by about 1,000 people, including Mayor Ju Gwang-deok of Namyangju, members of the Namyangju City Council, 44 village communities, and citizens.
The main programs included △ a small concert organized by village communities △ videos of village community activities △ an awards ceremony for six outstanding village communities, including ‘Dongnesaramdeul’ △ and operation of exhibition, sharing, and experience booths by 44 village communities, receiving great responses from attendees.
Mayor Ju Gwang-deok said, “Seeing all village communities actively working based on the spirit and teachings of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, I am confident that Namyangju will grow superlatively as the city of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong and leap into a city beyond imagination. Namyangju City will continue to provide unwavering support and efforts so that the best village activists can grow.”

Meanwhile, the city plans to operate sector-specific public contest projects, Community Days to activate citizen networks, and educational programs to train village activists in 2025 to further revitalize village communities.
