Taean County Holds Memorial Ceremony for Independence Activist Woo Un Moon Yangmok

More than 100 people, including Noh Jinyong, chairman of the Moon Yangmok Memorial Project Association, its members, and local residents, attended the ceremony. The event included incense burning, flower offerings, an introduction to Moon Yangmok's biography, and memorial speeches.
Woo Un Moon Yangmok was born in June 1869 in Mongsan-ri, Nam-myeon, Taean County. He participated in the Donghak Peasant Revolution and, after the signing of the Eulsa Treaty, went into exile in Hawaii in 1905. Until his passing in 1940, he advocated for unity within the Korean community through journalism, promoted education, and called for independence through armed resistance.
