On the 16th, Songpa Youth Center Opens 'Sports Complex Space'... Fun Increased with ICT and AI Technology Introduction

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) has created a youth-exclusive sports complex space at the Munjeong-dong Songpa Youth Center and held an opening ceremony on the 16th to officially begin its operation.
Recently, the rate of high-intensity physical activity practiced three times a week among Seoul youth has rapidly increased from 26% in 2020 to 42% in 2023. In response, the district secured a budget of 570 million KRW and started creating the youth sports complex space in June.
On the day of the opening ceremony, the district celebrated the birth of the new space with residents by holding the "Songpa Youth Survival Sports Competition," which was attended by 128 youths. As a result, the previously unused first floor of the center now houses state-of-the-art facilities including an ▲indoor survival game zone ▲giant immersive media zone ▲smart dance practice room.
In particular, cutting-edge ICT technology and AI integrated solutions were introduced to the space to meet the tastes of trend-sensitive youth. The space was carefully designed to break away from the stereotype that public facilities are dull, allowing for a new and exciting leisure experience.
First, in the survival game zone, players can enjoy the game with all five senses by shooting laser guns at lights in an SF-concept maze decorated with LED lighting and feeling vibrations through smart vests. Another major advantage is that it is indoors, unaffected by external weather conditions.
The immersive media zone, equipped with a giant beam projector, offers various media content experiences. Participants can choose from programs such as interactive media art, tours of famous domestic and international museums, digital sports activities, and personalized exhibitions, experiencing them vividly on a grand screen.
The smart dance practice room, remodeled from an existing practice room, is equipped with a ‘Smart Mirror.’ This interactive dance studio displays dance lesson videos on the mirror for users to follow along, records their movements in real-time, and allows content creation and SNS uploads. It is expected to provide new experiences and enjoyment for teenagers full of dreams and talents.
To use the facilities, reservations can be made by phone, visit, or online (Naver), and a nominal fee applies. For more detailed information regarding usage, please check the official website of the Songpa Youth Center.
Meanwhile, the Songpa Youth Center has been reborn as a youth hangout where various leisure cultures can be enjoyed, with the recent addition in June of the youth-exclusive play cafe ‘The Bom’ and the ‘Cooking & Baking Room.’
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, “This space was created to allow youth to easily and enjoyably experience the latest technology in line with the times,” adding, “We will continue to provide various support so that youth can healthily grow while properly relieving academic stress.”
