Namyangju City to Operate Intensive Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations Until the 13th of Next Month
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 18th that it will operate an intensive vaccination period until the 13th of next month to prevent winter influenza and COVID-19.
During this intensive period, the city aims to protect citizens' health and prevent the spread of infectious diseases by strengthening promotion and encouragement activities targeting those who have not yet been vaccinated.
The free influenza vaccine recipients include △ children aged 6 months to 13 years (born between January 1, 2011, and August 31, 2024) △ pregnant women △ seniors aged 65 and older (born on or before December 31, 1959) △ basic livelihood security recipients, medical aid beneficiaries, and national merit recipients aged 50 to 64 (born between 1960 and 1974) △ and persons with severe disabilities aged 14 to 64 (born between 1960 and 2010).
Vaccinations can be administered at public health centers or nearby designated medical institutions.
Additionally, free COVID-19 vaccination recipients include △ seniors aged 65 and older (born on or before December 31, 1959) △ immunocompromised individuals aged 6 months and older △ residents, inpatients, and workers in infection-vulnerable facilities △ and healthcare workers employed at medical institutions.
In particular, seniors aged 65 and older can receive influenza and COVID-19 vaccines simultaneously.
Information on designated vaccination institutions can be found on the Vaccination Helper website, and visitors to vaccination sites must bring identification and relevant qualification verification documents.

Lee Jeong-mi, Director of Namyangju Pungyang Public Health Center, said, “Vaccination is the most effective means to prevent influenza and COVID-19,” and added, “We especially urge seniors and pregnant women, who belong to high-risk groups, to be sure to get vaccinated.”
