Yeongyang-gun Christian Association Holds Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
In Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, the Yeongyang-gun Christian Association (President Song Seung-young) hosted a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on the 15th at 5:30 PM in Sol Square in front of the county office, attended by over 50 members of the Yeongyang-gun Christian Association and local residents.

View original imageThe first part of the event began with hymns, followed by a Bible reading by Pastor Kim Kang-sik, a sermon by Song Seung-young, president of the Yeongyang-gun Christian Association, and a benediction. The second part included a donation ceremony for helping neighbors and the Christmas tree lighting, delivering a hopeful Christmas message.
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony, held annually before Christmas, was set up to comfort the hearts of residents affected by the economic recession and natural disasters and to wish for a happy year-end and New Year while enjoying the Christmas tree.
Song Seung-young, president of the Yeongyang-gun Christian Association, said, “The bright light of the Christmas tree becomes a warm light for the dark and marginalized neighbors around us and a light of hope for those in hardship. I hope it will be a good opportunity for the residents to share love.”
