Korea Federation of SMEs Announces Winners of the 4th Yellow Umbrella Photo and Short-form Contest
‘My Reliable Supporter’ Featuring the Nail Art Shop Startup Story
The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced the winners of the 4th Yellow Umbrella Photo and Short-form Video Contest held under the theme "Stories of Small Businesses and Small Merchants with Yellow Umbrella" on the 15th.
The grand prize was awarded to subscriber (Lee Esther) for the short-form video "My Reliable Supporter," which captured the story of starting a nail art shop and how the Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid served as a pillar of support. The excellence awards went to subscriber (Kim Kwang-yeol) for the photo "The Man with the Divine Ear," which captured a veteran auto mechanic detecting car issues by sound alone, and subscriber (Kim Seo-hee) for the short-form video "Our Mom," which sincerely portrayed the story of a mother busy running a chicken restaurant for 30 years.
Additionally, photos and short-form videos expressing the daily lives, workplaces, and business stories of small merchants engaged in various industries such as beauty, food service, manufacturing, and lodging were selected for 20 encouragement awards and 60 honorable mentions respectively. The awards ceremony will be held on the 6th of next month, and winners will receive a total prize money of 26 million KRW, with 2 million KRW for the grand prize, 1 million KRW for excellence awards, 500,000 KRW for encouragement awards, and 200,000 KRW for honorable mentions. The winning works will be showcased on the large LED screen on the first floor of the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business headquarters in Yeouido and on the Yellow Umbrella website.

Lee Chang-ho, head of the Mutual Aid Business Division at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business, said, “Through the winning works of this contest, we hope to discover the importance and value of various small businesses and small merchants in our society, empathize with their hard work in life, and support them.” He added, “The Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid will continue to serve as a reliable social safety net for small businesses and small merchants and grow together with them.”
