Ulsan City-Korea National Oil Corporation-Korea Explosion Protection Association Sign Disaster Safety Business Agreement
Strengthening Cooperation for Major Accident and Disaster Prevention
Workplace Safety Inspections, Technical Advisory Collaboration
On the 15th at 3 PM, Ulsan City will sign a 'Business Agreement for Disaster Safety Cooperation in Ulsan' with Korea National Oil Corporation and the Korea Explosion Protection Association at the Korea National Oil Corporation Ulsan Storage Base.
This agreement was prepared to prevent major disasters and accidents that may occur at small and medium-sized hazardous material handling businesses in the petrochemical sector of Ulsan, the largest industrial city in Korea.
The signing ceremony will be held with the attendance of about 30 people, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, Korea National Oil Corporation President Kim Dong-seop, Korea Explosion Protection Association Chairman Park Jong-hoon, and Onsan Industrial Complex Association Chairman Choi Seung-bong.
According to the agreement, Korea National Oil Corporation will be responsible for disaster safety prevention inspections and on-site diagnostics through professional personnel, while the Explosion Protection Association will provide inspections of explosion-proof facilities and technical consultations. Ulsan City will be in charge of selecting target businesses and providing administrative support.
Additionally, these organizations will mutually cooperate to strengthen the disaster safety system by conducting safety diagnostics, inspections, and technical consultations for hazardous material handling businesses to create a safe industrial environment in the Ulsan area.
This agreement takes effect immediately upon signing and will remain in force until the parties agree to terminate it.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "Due to the characteristics of Ulsan as an industrial city, disaster safety prevention activities are of utmost importance," and added, "We expect that this agreement will further strengthen the overall safety capabilities of the petrochemical industry."
