40s Male Suspected of Child Abuse Booked Without Detention

A man known as the so-called 'Headbutting Ajusshi' who headbutted an elementary school student he had never met before and fled in Incheon has been caught by the police.

On the 14th, the Namdong Police Station in Incheon announced that they had booked a man in his 40s, Mr. A, without detention on charges of child abuse under the Child Welfare Act.

Mr. A is accused of headbutting a 5th-grade student, boy B (12), near an elementary school in Mansu-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon, around 8:30 a.m. on the 12th, and then fleeing the scene. It was investigated that he approached boy B, whom he met for the first time that day, and committed the act without any reason. At the time, boy B, who was walking to school while pushing his bicycle, suffered a bump on his head and required hospital treatment.

The police received a report from a school teacher who heard about the incident from boy B and analyzed the closed-circuit television (CCTV) around the school route. They arrested Mr. A at his home around 10:30 a.m. the previous day. The police plan to summon Mr. A later as a suspect to investigate the motive behind the crime.

It was reported that Mr. A was known as the 'Headbutting Ajusshi' at a nearby elementary school. A police official said, "We believe Mr. A may have committed other offenses and are investigating further."
