Environmental Color Planning for Spatial Innovation at Uijeongbu City Hall
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 13th that it won the ‘Korea Color Award Red (RED)’ themed on innovation at the 22nd Korea Color Awards.

View original imageNow in its 22nd year, the Korea Color Awards is the only color-related awards ceremony in Korea, sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Color Society to promote the development of domestic color culture and enhance the professionalism of the color industry.
The Korea Color Awards selects outstanding cases in 11 categories including ▲landscape ▲architecture and interior decoration ▲visual ▲fashion, and this year’s awards consist of ▲Red (RED, Innovation) ▲Green (GREEN, Spatial Environment) ▲Blue (BLUE, Technology) awards.
The city received high praise for preparing an integrated environmental color plan considering ▲symbolism ▲functionality ▲an open image under the theme of ‘Environmental Color Plan for Spatial Innovation of Uijeongbu City Hall’ to improve the previously authoritative and inconsistent public office color environment. The winning works will be posted on the Korea Color Society’s website and social networking services (SNS).
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “It is meaningful to receive good evaluations for transforming the public office environment color in a way different from before,” adding, “We will provide a comfortable city hall with an open spatial innovation where citizens always want to visit.”
