Uijeongbu City Holds 30th Anniversary Ceremony for Uijeongbu Senior Welfare Center Opening
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 13th that it held the ‘30th Anniversary Ceremony of the Opening of Uijeongbu Senior Welfare Center’ at the Grand Theater of Uijeongbu Arts Center on the 12th.

The attendees celebrated the achievements of Uijeongbu Senior Welfare Center (Director Choi Jong-rok), which marks its 30th anniversary this year, and also supported new changes preparing for a super-aged society.
The first part of the ceremony began with a pre-event performance by the Haewoolrim Samulnori Group, followed by awards for senior welfare contributors and a senior citizens' declaration ceremony. The second part featured a senior model walking show and congratulatory performances by the welfare center’s community performance team.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "The honor of the 30th anniversary is thanks to the welfare center volunteers, instructors, and facility workers who have quietly worked hard over a long time," adding, "We will continue to work together to create a city where the elderly are happy."

Uijeongbu Senior Welfare Center opened on November 18, 1994, and has played a central role in promoting senior welfare in the region for 30 years. It operates various programs such as lifelong education support, senior job programs, and senior counseling, supporting leisure activities and social participation of local seniors.
