Strengthening Connections Between Promising SMEs and Private Investors
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Director Gu Chung-gon, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced on the 13th that it held the 'Jeonnam Small and Medium Enterprises-Venture Capital Matching Investment Attraction Mart' on the 12th at the Yeosu Hidden Bay Hotel to provide investment attraction opportunities for promising small and medium enterprises in the Jeonnam region.
This event was jointly hosted by the Gwangyang Economic Authority, Jeonnam Technopark, and the Korea Investment Institutions Association for Materials, Parts, and Equipment (KITIA), with participation from 20 local companies possessing advanced technologies such as secondary battery materials, eco-friendly containers, metal products, and precision parts manufacturing, as well as investment officers from 10 major domestic venture capital firms.

Representatives of small and medium enterprises stated, "Through networking with various investors who are usually difficult to meet, we were able to lay the groundwork for business expansion," and added, "Based on the advice received during this consultation, we plan to supplement our investment attraction strategies."
Since 2022, the Gwangyang Economic Authority has held the Investment Attraction Mart annually to discover promising small and medium enterprises in Jeonnam and strengthen investment connections with private venture capital, thereby contributing to the activation of private investment.
In particular, this year, by cooperating with Jeonnam Technopark and focusing on recruiting and supporting participating companies, the foundation for local companies to secure new growth engines through investment attraction was further strengthened.
