Gwangju Seo-gu Holds 'Popup Playground' at Yudeok Children's Park
"Diverse Events Including Kids Flea Market on the Theme 'Play is a Right'"
Seo-gu, Gwangju City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 12th that it held the event ‘A Special Day for Ami Kids, Pop-up Playground’ at Yudeok Children's Park.
Yudeok-dong, known as the ‘Village Where Children Smile,’ promoted this event to allow children to feel their rights and happiness through play and experience. The event was participated in by the Seo-gu Office Child and Youth Division, Yudeok-dong Administrative Welfare Center, World Vision Mujin Comprehensive Welfare Center, Save the Children, Seo-gu Childcare Support Center, and Gwangcheon Culture House.

View original imageThe pop-up playground, held under the theme ‘Play is a Right,’ featured various programs such as a sports air bouncer, used tire rolling experience, sport stacking, four-cut photo booth, and kids flea market.
In commemoration of Child Abuse Prevention Day (November 19) and World Children’s Day (November 20), the event introduced the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and added significance to child protection and rights by attaching luminous point marks in the Yudeok-dong children protection zone for child and pedestrian traffic safety.
Seo-gu is creating a safe and friendly child-friendly street by painting children’s drawings on the road curbs in the ‘ALL KIDS ZONE’ area of Yudeok-dong and attaching school zone point marks.
Child-friendly businesses in this area are supported with toddler tableware, chairs, and drawing sets so that children and parents can use the stores comfortably.
