Solving Long-Standing Demand of Gwanak-gu Residents and Soccer Enthusiasts... Expanding Local Sports and Leisure Infrastructure
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is accelerating the development of the ‘Nakseongdae Football-Only Stadium’ to promote residents' health and provide enjoyable leisure activities.
Gwanak-gu currently has two football fields, Gwanak 1st and 2nd Residents' Sports Complexes. Due to intense competition for reservations during popular times, local residents and football enthusiasts have continuously requested the expansion of new football fields.
In response, the district planned to build a football-only stadium in 2022 to provide a healthy leisure culture space, revitalize the local economy, and improve the quality of life for residents.
This project is a key initiative of the 8th elected administration and part of the ‘365 Life Sports’ program aimed at encouraging voluntary sports activities among residents and expanding the base of community sports.
The ‘Nakseongdae Football-Only Stadium’ is scheduled for completion in December this year and will be constructed on a 5,326㎡ site in the Nakseongdae area of Gwanaksan Mountain, which has minimal environmental impact and good accessibility for residents.
The ‘Nakseongdae Football-Only Stadium’ will include one artificial turf football field, as well as various convenience facilities such as ▲showers ▲restrooms ▲parking lots.
The district expects that the completion of the ‘Nakseongdae Football-Only Stadium’ will satisfy the demand of local residents wishing to use football fields and simultaneously strengthen community spirit among residents through the activation of team sports.
Additionally, the district is preparing various facilities so that local residents can enjoy diverse sports nearby, maintain their health, and enjoy leisure activities.
In particular, the district is constructing a park golf course with 9 holes on a 11,285㎡ site in the Nangok area of Gwanaksan Mountain.
