Local Residents' Strong Will and Aspiration Publicized
Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) announced on the 11th that from the 11th to the 15th, a "KTX-Eum Stop Station Attraction Photo Exhibition" will be held in the lobby on the first floor of the Gijang-gun Office for five days.
This photo exhibition was planned to publicly showcase the strong will and desire of local residents by displaying photos of various campaigns and attraction activities involving residents, businesses, and organizations to attract the KTX-Eum stop station.
On this day, photos capturing various attraction activities are exhibited, ranging from attraction performances by ▲resident organizations from five towns and townships ▲Gijang-gun Women's Association Council ▲Gijang-gun Advisory Council of the National Unification Advisory Council ▲Gijang-gun Volunteer Center and other organizations and institutions, to support messages from children at local daycare centers, and campaigns urging attraction participation by national institutions and companies within the Dongnam Radiation Medical Science Industrial Complex.
Jeong Jong-bok, Governor of Gijang-gun, said, "Since last March, a relay of attraction support messages from all citizens and attraction performances involving residents from all walks of life in the region have been ongoing," adding, "We will concentrate all administrative power until the final decision on the KTX-Eum stop station is made."
Gijang-gun completed a feasibility study for attracting the KTX-Eum stop station in 2022 and, in 2023, directly delivered a petition with 141,000 signatures from all citizens to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Compared to competing local governments, Gijang-gun started the attraction campaign early, with all residents participating in the effort to attract the KTX-Eum stop station.
