Dokdo Rally Held on Japanese Island Village After 14 Years... Seokyeongdeok Calls It "Territorial Provocation"
"Dokdo Rally After 14 Years, An Already Foreseen Event"
A rally claiming sovereignty over Dokdo was held in a remote island village belonging to Shimane Prefecture, Japan, sparking controversy.
Professor Seo Kyung-deok of Sungshin Women's University stated on his Facebook on the 11th, "On the 9th, Okinoshima Town (Oki Island), part of Shimane Prefecture, Japan, held a 'Dokdo Sovereignty Movement Okinoshima Town Rally' at the Oki Cultural Center, causing controversy."
He pointed out, "This event, held for the first time in 14 years, recruited participants through prior registration and was also broadcast live on YouTube for those who could not attend. I have visited Oki Island several times for investigations, and they have been steadily preparing to use it as an outpost for their ambition to seize Dokdo," adding, "The Dokdo rally after 14 years was already anticipated. This is a clear territorial provocation."

It is also known that signboards, billboards, and banners stating "Dokdo is Japanese territory" were installed throughout the island.
Professor Seo also pointed out, "Yumiko Sugihara, from Gumi (久見) village on Oki Island, authored a children's storybook called 'The Island with the Metchi' and has been conducting distorted education targeting students through lecture tours."
