Yongin Dongnim Public Sewage Treatment Facility Environmental Ministry Approval Completed
Maximum Daily Processing Capacity of 2100㎥
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that the basic sewerage maintenance plan, which includes the installation project of the 'Dongnim Public Sewage Treatment Facility' for sewage treatment in the Mohyeon-eup area of Cheoin-gu, has been approved by the Ministry of Environment.
Currently, sewage generated in Dongnim-ri, Osan-ri, and Neungwon-ri in Mohyeon-eup is not treated within the district due to the lack of local treatment facilities, and 3,000㎥ per day is outsourced to the nearby 'Opo Sewage Treatment Facility' in Gwangju City. Because of this, development projects promoted in the area also had to obtain consultation and approval from Gwangju City regarding sewage treatment issues.
At the time of establishing the city's basic plan in 2021, the treatment capacity of the 'Dongnim Sewage Treatment Facility' was 300㎥ per day. Accordingly, the city received approval from the Ministry of Environment to expand the treatment capacity to 2,100㎥ per day by 2030. The city especially aims to further increase this capacity to about 4,100㎥ by 2035.
