The selection categories include five sections: △Children’s Picture Books △Children’s Literature Books △Youth Books △General Literature Books △General Non-fiction Books. Recommended books from citizens in each category will go through meetings of the citizen selection committee, followed by a citizen preference survey and the final review by the book selection committee to determine the winners.
The selected books will be introduced to citizens through various reading culture promotion projects such as the 2025 "Book of the Year" proclamation ceremony, school book relay, author visits to schools, and book crossing reading campaigns.
Any Yangju citizen can recommend books by visiting a nearby public library or through online responses via the library website or QR codes on promotional posters.
Additionally, the citizen selection committee will be recruited from the 11th. Any Yangju citizen can download the application form from the library website and submit it via email or apply online through the QR code.
A Yangju city official stated, “We hope that the process of selecting and reading the Book of the Year together will provide an opportunity to enjoy reading and become closer to books,” and added, “We ask for active interest and participation from citizens in recommending the 2025 Yangju Book of the Year.”
