Namyangju City, Route Change and Replacement of Old Vehicles for Bus No. 38
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 5th that starting from the first bus on the 7th, a part of the turnaround section of Bus No. 38 at Jangja Hosu Park Station on Line 8 will be changed.
Bus No. 38 was extended to Jangja Hosu Park Station on August 3rd, but there were complaints regarding student traffic safety during the U-turn at the Jangja Elementary School intersection, which was the original turnaround route. Accordingly, the city adjusted the turnaround route on September 30th to detour via Jangjahosu-gil.
Although the traffic safety complaints were resolved through this measure, new complaints arose that the changed route reduced subway station accessibility and increased travel time.
In response, the city, after active consultations with Guri City, changed the route again to turn left at Jangja Elementary School and return to Jangja Hosu Park Station.
Additionally, complaints about inconvenience caused by the aging diesel buses operating on Bus No. 38 have continued, so a total of four buses will be sequentially replaced with newer models on the 4th and 11th.
