SK Chemicals Reports Q3 Revenue of 426.3 Billion KRW and Operating Loss of 12.5 Billion KRW, Turning to Deficit
SK Chemicals announced on the 5th that its consolidated operating loss for the third quarter of this year was 12.5 billion KRW, marking a turnaround from an operating profit of 83.4 billion KRW in the same period last year.
Sales amounted to 426.3 billion KRW, a 26.7% decrease compared to the same period last year. Net loss turned to 11 billion KRW.
On a separate basis, SK Chemicals' third-quarter sales and operating profit were 331.9 billion KRW and 29.5 billion KRW respectively, representing increases of 11.3% and 23.6% compared to the same period last year. Despite a challenging business environment due to delayed global demand recovery, the company explained that efforts to develop applications and expand customers led to increased sales volume of copolyester.
