Changwon Special City Holds Veterans Day Ceremony to Renew Security Awareness
Masan Happo and Hoeweon-gu Veterans Association Elevate Status of Security Organizations
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '72nd Anniversary of Veterans Day Commemoration and Security Resolution Meeting' on the 5th at the Masanhappo-gu Office Large Conference Room.
Hosted by the Masanhappo and Hoewon-gu Veterans Association, the ceremony was attended by about 150 people including Jo Myeong-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor of Changwon Special City, provincial and city council members, and other members. The event commemorated the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Korea Veterans Association with awards for meritorious members, commemorative speeches, and congratulatory addresses.
The attendees took the time to promote camaraderie among veterans and to reaffirm a proper sense of national identity and security awareness.
Um Dae-chi, President of the Veterans Association, pledged, “We will continue to contribute to the development of the local community with our members and do our best to establish security awareness and national development.”
Jo Myeong-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor, said, “I thank the Veterans Association for their efforts in homeland defense and regional development as the second bastion of the Republic of Korea’s security. I hope they will continue to be a strong pillar of security in the local community.”
