Samil PwC Holds Seminar on Game Industry at G-STAR
Samil PwC announced on the 5th that it will hold a seminar titled "Beyond the Boundaries of Gaming: Diversification and Its Financial Risks" at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, Busan, where Korea's largest game exhibition, G-Star 2024, will be held on the 15th.
Recently, the gaming industry has faced various challenges due to the rapid changes in the global platform industry, including intensified competition among global game companies, securing new intellectual property (IP), and rising labor costs.
In Korea, compliance risks in the gaming industry are increasing due to regulations on probability-based items. In this situation, gaming companies are striving to develop business models by seeking alliances with other industries such as entertainment or entering new fields like the virtual sector.
This seminar was prepared to forecast the current status and future of the rapidly changing gaming industry and to examine major financial trends related to the gaming industry, based on the "2024 Game Startup Guidebook" published annually by the Game Industry Specialization Center, composed of gaming industry experts within Samil PwC, in line with the G-Star event.
The seminar consists of six sessions. In the first session, Partner Jeong Won-seok of Samil PwC will give a lecture on "Global Trends and Opportunities in the Gaming Industry," and in the second session, Director Lee Kyung-min of Samil PwC will speak on "Understanding the Value-Up Program and Value-Up Strategy Plans for Gaming Companies."
In the third session, Partner Lee Seung-wook will lecture on "The Current Status of P2E Games and Understanding Disclosure Obligations," and in the fourth session, Partner Chae Ho-hyung will discuss "Recent Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Investment Management Case Reviews."
