New Director of National Cancer Center: Professor Yang Hangwang, Department of Surgery, Seoul National University College of Medicine
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 4th that Professor Yang Hangwang of the Department of Surgery at Seoul National University College of Medicine has been appointed as the new director of the National Cancer Center.
Director Yang's term will be three years, ending on November 3, 2027.
Director Yang has been a professor at Seoul National University since 1995 and has served as the director of Seoul National University Cancer Hospital, president of the Korean Cancer Association, and secretary-general of the International Gastric Cancer Association.
Director Yang stated, "I will do my best together with talented individuals to help the National Cancer Center take a leap forward."

The National Cancer Center is a public institution under the Ministry of Health and Welfare established under the Cancer Control Act for specialized research on cancer and treatment of cancer patients.
