176 Second-Year Students Preparing for Clinical Practice Participate
Scholarships for Teacher and Junior Love Also Awarded
The Department of Nursing at Honam University held the "18th Nightingale Pledge Ceremony" on the 1st in the small auditorium on the first floor, with 176 second-year students participating.

The Department of Nursing at Honam University (Department Head Ha Yoon-joo) announced on the 3rd that on the 1st at 3 p.m., the 18th Nightingale Oath Ceremony was held in the small auditorium on the 1st floor of Building 4 (Sangha Building), with the participation of 176 second-year students.
The Nightingale Oath Ceremony is a meaningful and traditional event where second-year nursing students, who are about to begin clinical practice, hold candles symbolizing the noble spirit of the nursing profession, reflect on Nightingale's spirit of sacrifice and service, and pledge to fulfill their responsibilities for human health and well-being.
In particular, to convey the spirit of Nightingale, nurses Kim Eun-hyang (Class of 2020, Shinchon Severance Hospital) and Jeon Se-gyeong (Class of 2022, Chonnam National University Hospital), who are active in clinical settings, participated and added significance by lighting the candles.
On this day, the Department of Nursing awarded the ‘Department of Nursing Student Love Scholarship’ and the ‘Junior Love Scholarship’ certificates, which are annually prepared through the joint efforts of nursing professors and alumni, to students Jo Yu-ji and Hwang In-gyeong (second-year), who achieved excellent results in volunteer work, academics, and foreign language skills.

The participating students expressed their determination, saying, “We will uphold the professional ethics required as nurses, and this oath ceremony made us take the nursing profession more seriously,” and “We want to contribute to the development of the nursing field as professional nurses by reflecting on the meaning of the Nightingale Oath.”
