Jungnang-gu to Host 2024 Jungnang Mangwoo Space Second Half Planned Exhibition
Starting October 31 until February 2025
Vividly Recreating Figures Who Contributed to the Development of Modern and Contemporary Children's Songs and Popular Music
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will hold a special exhibition in the second half of 2024 at the Jungnang Mangwoo Space Education Exhibition Hall located in Mangwoo History and Culture Park.
This special exhibition is designed to highlight the figures resting in Mangwoo History and Culture Park who contributed to the development of Korean popular songs and children's songs, aiming to enhance the cultural and artistic value of the park.
The exhibition hall vividly recreates the eras when the songs were sung, providing a time that all generations can relate to.
The exhibition space is divided into ‘Mangwoo Music Cafe’ and ‘Children’s Hill.’ In the ‘Mangwoo Music Cafe,’ visitors can encounter the works of poet Park In-hwan from the 1950s and singer Cha Jung-rak, who was popular in the 1960s. In the ‘Children’s Hill,’ visitors can meet key figures of modern and contemporary music such as children’s literature writer Bang Jeong-hwan, who marked the beginning of Korean children’s songs, and representative children’s song composer Kang So-cheon.
Especially, on Sunday, November 3 and 10 at 2 p.m., performances are planned at the first-floor media hall of Jungnang Mangwoo Space, offering a special experience to the residents.
The exhibition starts on October 31 and will be open for viewing until February 2025. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Admission is free.
