Osungrok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Attends Starlight Park Completion Ceremony
On the afternoon of the 30th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the completion ceremony of Byeolbit Park held in the area of San 139-2, Junggye-dong.
The area was a damaged and neglected forest site, and the district transformed it into a park. This was to provide residents with an open space where they can enjoy leisure in their daily lives.
In particular, the district put great effort into the facility layout by planting trees and installing walking trails and exercise equipment so that all generations, from children to the elderly, can comfortably rest while looking at Bukhansan Mountain and engage in various physical activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, city council members, and local residents, and proceeded in the order of ▲progress report ▲congratulatory speeches ▲commemorative photo ▲facility tour.
Mayor Oh said, “A place that had been neglected for a long time has been transformed into a nature-friendly park where the whole family can heal and relax together,” adding, “We will continue to do our best for the residents’ leisure and cultural life.”

The district is promoting the ‘Living Park Regeneration Project’ targeting 28 living parks and 90 children’s parks in the area. Park regeneration is carried out in a way that brings out individuality according to the conditions of the surrounding area, such as circular walking trails, exercise spaces, grassy yards, resting areas, and reinforcement of children’s play facilities. Since starting in 2019, 74 sites have been completed to date, with sequential maintenance planned until 2026.
