Jung So-yeon, a senior student in the Department of Digital Contents at Dong-Eui University, won the grand prize in the ‘2024 Earthquake Safety Short-Form Video Contest’ hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

View original imageThis contest, titled ‘The nth Way to Overcome Earthquakes,’ was open to the entire nation from June to July and invited short-form videos under 59 seconds. The awards ceremony was held on October 18 at the Central Disaster and Safety Situation Room on the first floor of the Government Sejong Complex.
Jung So-yeon created an animation using motion graphics titled ‘Earthquake Action Guidelines Learned in 60 Seconds,’ which received high evaluations for thematic relevance, originality, and popularity, earning her the grand prize along with the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s award and a prize of 2 million KRW.

Jung So-yeon said, “I focused a lot on visually condensing the key points of earthquake action guidelines within the one-minute limit, which led to this good result,” and added, “As this is my final year at university, I participated in the contest as a personal challenge, so I am surprised and delighted to receive such a significant award.”
