Bucheon-si Operates 'Trauma Recovery Group Counseling' to Support Daily Life Restoration
Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province and the Bucheon Mental Health Welfare Center will operate a 'Trauma Recovery Group Counseling' program from the 13th to the 27th of next month to help citizens who have experienced psychological trauma recover their daily lives.
Traumatic experiences can cause functional impairments in emotional, physical, and cognitive aspects, and if appropriate intervention is not provided immediately after the traumatic event, it may lead to post-traumatic stress disorder accompanied by major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, and more.
Accordingly, the Bucheon Mental Health Welfare Center plans to provide warm and non-judgmental social support through group counseling to fully accept the negative emotions arising from disaster experiences and help move toward a positive direction.
This program is open to any Bucheon citizen experiencing psychological trauma. It will be held every Wednesday and Friday (1 PM to 3 PM) from the 13th to the 27th of next month at the Bucheon City Wonmi Library Cultural Lecture Room. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the 11th of next month.
