Samsung Electronics with No Hacking Concerns... Digital Lock 'CryptoCore' Completes US Certification
Application of Tizen OS in 2025
Blocking Personal Information Leakage Risks
Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th that its self-developed cryptographic module 'CryptoCore' has obtained the FIPS 140-3 certification, a stringent security certification from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
This certification guarantees the safety and reliability of encryption technology and is scheduled to be applied to Samsung Electronics' operating system, Tizen OS, starting in 2025.
CryptoCore is a software library (a bundle of code) that performs encryption and decryption during data transmission or storage. It functions to lock and unlock important data such as Samsung account information, SmartThings authentication information, and TV content copyrights.

Tizen OS equipped with CryptoCore securely encrypts and decrypts ▲ Samsung account personal information logged into the device, ▲ SmartThings authentication information to protect against external hacking threats, and ▲ copyrights of content being viewed on the TV.
Since applying the security solution 'Samsung Knox' to smart TVs starting from 2015 products, Samsung Electronics has obtained CC certification for 10 consecutive years. With this certification, hacking and personal information leakage risks related to the cryptographic module can be preemptively blocked, providing stronger security.
