'Yonsei University Essay Leak' Class Action Lawsuit Changes Purpose to Retake Implementation
Change from Previous Invalid Confirmation
Regarding the Yonsei University early admission essay leak incident, examinees are preparing a lawsuit for a retake of the essay exam.
On the 29th, according to the examinees and parents pushing for a class-action lawsuit, the claim purpose of the collective lawsuit was changed from 'confirmation of invalidity' to 'enforcement of retake' the day before. It is known that they changed the claim purpose considering that there is no means to enforce if Yonsei University refuses to hold a retake.
Eighteen examinees and parents filed a lawsuit against Yonsei University for invalidating the essay exam and applied for a provisional injunction to suspend the effectiveness of the essay screening on the 21st at the Seoul Western District Court.
Earlier, on the 12th, at a test site where the Yonsei University early admission natural sciences essay exam was held, due to a supervisor's mistake, the exam papers were distributed at 12:55 PM, about an hour before the exam started, and then collected about 20 minutes later. After the exam, photos of the natural sciences exam questions and practice answers for the humanities exam, apparently taken by an examinee, were shared on online communities, sparking controversy over question leaks.
