Yangju City Installs CCTV to Monitor Illegal Dumping at Clean Houses
Yangju City recently installed unauthorized dumping surveillance CCTV at the 'Clean House,' a central collection facility for household waste, establishing an unauthorized dumping monitoring system.
Gyeonggi Yangju City (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 29th that it has recently installed unauthorized dumping surveillance CCTV at the ‘Clean House,’ a key facility for household waste disposal, and established an unauthorized dumping monitoring system based on this.
This measure was prepared to solve the problem of unauthorized dumping within the Clean House and to raise citizens' awareness of environmental protection on their own.
After struggling with unauthorized dumping issues over the past few years, the city decided to install CCTV, judging that it was necessary to induce voluntary participation from citizens and implement measures to prevent dumping.
The CCTV is placed inside the key disposal facility and will monitor unauthorized dumping in real time through a 24-hour monitoring system.
The city plans to take active measures such as imposing fines when unauthorized dumping is detected through CCTV footage, expecting an environmental improvement effect by raising awareness of illegal dumping acts.
It is also expected that the installation of CCTV will not only reduce citizens’ dumping behavior but also establish a proper waste disposal culture.
This CCTV installation and monitoring system establishment is part of Yangju City’s environmental policy, and the city plans to continue enhancing the efficiency of household waste management and work together with citizens to protect the environment through ongoing monitoring and promotional activities.
