Uijeongbu-si Confirms 24 Resident Participation Budget Projects for 2025 Totaling 993.8 Million KRW
Uijeongbu City has finalized the selection of 24 resident participation budget projects for 2025 through the resolution of the Resident Participation Budget Committee.
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 29th that it has finalized the selection of 24 resident-participation budget projects for 2025 through the resolution of the Resident Participation Budget Committee.
The city's Resident Participation Budget Committee, through three subcommittees?Autonomous Administration and Finance, Environment, Culture, Sports and Welfare, and Urban Transportation and Health?has thoroughly reviewed the feasibility and effectiveness of 66 proposed projects since May, and submitted 24 projects as agenda items to the full committee.
The full committee resolved to reflect a total of 24 projects, including two projects with adjusted reduced budgets, amounting to 993.8 million KRW, in the 2025 budget plan.
The finally selected projects include resident convenience enhancement projects such as the replacement of streetlights with light-emitting diode (LED) lamps for road lighting improvement (48 million KRW) and the installation of smart bus stops (75 million KRW), as well as projects closely related to residents' daily safety, such as the installation of visible fire extinguishers (5.5 million KRW) and the attachment of safety signage at elementary school crosswalks (6 million KRW).
Notably, six projects (200 million KRW) proposed by the newly established Youth Committee this year, including the Uijeongbu Youth Jeonse and Monthly Rent Contract Safety Service project and the Labor Attorney Voucher project to support youth employment, were selected, drawing attention.
The resident participation budget projects finally selected this time will be finalized as the 2025 budget after review and resolution by the Uijeongbu City Council at the 333rd 2nd regular session.
