Pocheon-si Holds 2nd Women-Friendly City Safety Council Meeting
Pocheon City held the 2nd 2024 Women-Friendly City Safety Council meeting on the 25th.
Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 28th that it held the 2nd Women's Friendly City Safety Council meeting of 2024 on the 25th.
Fifteen officials attended the meeting, including representatives from the Information and Communication Division, Women and Family Division, Citizen Safety Division, Road Division, Pocheon Police Station Crime Prevention Response Division, and the Women's Friendly City Citizen Participation Group (Safety Subcommittee), to discuss various measures for crime prevention.
During the meeting, they reviewed the field inspection sites of three locations selected as crime-vulnerable areas: Gunnae-myeon, Yeongjung-myeon, and Yeongbuk-myeon. The focus was on painting safe routes for a secure return home environment, installing internal video networks (CCTV), and lighting measures.
Additionally, based on the monitoring results of the 'Zero Safe Village Safe Route' conducted in the first half of 2024, they discussed project outcomes and improvement plans and reorganized the implementation plan for the second half of the year.
In particular, the first half monitoring results showed that citizens responded positively to the creation of safe routes. The design reflecting citizens' opinions was applied, resulting in high satisfaction. However, some areas raised opinions that additional security infrastructure expansion and maintenance were necessary, and improvement measures were discussed during the meeting.
A Pocheon City official stated, "Proactively managing crime-vulnerable areas and ensuring citizens' safety is our top priority," adding, "We will continue to work with residents to create a safe community."
