“Police Special Forces 7 Households 21 People Move-in Celebration” Welcome in Uiryeong Guso Village
Young New Residents... Citing 'Good Neighbor
Educational Benefits' as an Advantage
Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that a village celebration was held on the 21st in Guso Village, Yongdeok-myeon, Uiryeong-gun, where about 100 people from 54 households live closely together, to celebrate the relocation of the police special forces unit members.
Residents personally prepared the celebration to welcome the relocation of 21 members from 7 households of the Gyeongnam Police Special Forces, which was established in 2019 with a new office in Guso Village. It was a “surprise gift” timed perfectly with Police Day (October 21).

Im Wooseop, head of Guso Village, said, “The village feels lively with the passionate voices of young people exercising in the morning and the laughter of children in the evening.”
Uiryeong-gun has put effort into encouraging the relocation of unit members to increase the population. They have frequently promoted distinctive youth package programs such as moving expenses and used car purchase support, as well as representative Uiryeong-gun child-rearing and care policies like multi-child family support allowances and postpartum care cost assistance.
In particular, the county implemented a program that supports activity expenses when young people with common interests form clubs, which received enthusiastic responses from the young unit members.

Jo Eunjeong, wife of team leader Shin Hojun who relocated with their family of four, said, “I often think that all the elders in the village work together to protect and raise our children. Our children are receiving more love than we deserve.”
Kwon Yebyeol, wife of member Lee Geunho who relocated from Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, said, “Uiryeong is great for raising children. The small number of students is not a disadvantage at all. In the city, there are waiting lists and overcrowding for educational programs, but in Uiryeong, you can participate 100% in all of them. The advantage of education together is really great.”
