Foundation Official "Personal Reasons"
Yoon Byung-se, chairman of the Cheongwadae Foundation, resigned after serving for about four months. According to the Cheongwadae Foundation on the 24th, he expressed his intention to step down from the chairman position on the 14th and submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It has been about four months since he was appointed chairman on June 13. A foundation official stated that the reason was "personal."
Former Chairman Yoon was scheduled to appear as a witness at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's comprehensive audit held at the National Assembly that day. However, he submitted a letter of absence due to stepping down from the chairman position.
Former Chairman Yoon graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in law and passed the foreign service examination in 1976. He was appointed Senior Secretary for Unification, Foreign Affairs, and Security Policy at the Presidential Secretariat in 2007 and served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2013 to 2017.
