Full Amount of Incentive Bonus for Master Craftsman Certification Donated to POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation
POSCO Pohang Steelworks employee Im Tae-rang from the STS Rolling Department has earned the honor of becoming the youngest ever to acquire the Rolling Technician qualification.
The Rolling Technician qualification is awarded to those who possess the highest level of skilled expertise in industrial settings, and Im obtained it just four years after joining the company.
In particular, Im holds 15 professional certifications, including the Rolling Technician, Gas Technician, and Industrial Safety Engineer, demonstrating his expertise.
Im said, “POSCO is the world’s first to apply STS continuous rolling technology, which requires outstanding technical skills and a high level of proficiency. I am very pleased to have earned the Rolling Technician qualification after obtaining the Rolling Craftsman license by studying to enhance my job capabilities.”
Another noteworthy point is Im’s social contribution activities. He donated the entire 2 million KRW professional qualification incentive he received for acquiring the technician license to the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation.
Jo Min-cheol, Head of the STS Rolling Department 2 Cold Rolling Plant, said, “Im Tae-rang, who practiced beautiful giving with his reward money, is a great pride of our plant. We hope he will continue to grow into a core resource of the company, not only with his skills but also with his admirable character.”

A total of 237 job-specific qualifications are classified into S, A, and B grades, with incentives provided according to the grade.
