Incheon Yeonsu-gu Launches 120,000-Signature Campaign Urging Construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line
Yeonsu-gu, Incheon has launched a petition campaign urging the construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line metropolitan railway network.
The district announced on the 23rd that since the project was included in the 4th National Railway Network Construction Plan in 2021, the construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line has been delayed due to various issues such as the relocation review of the Guro Vehicle Depot and alternative route reviews. Therefore, Yeonsu-gu is starting a petition campaign to urge the prompt construction of the line.
The construction of the 2nd Gyeongin Line is a long-cherished project of Yeonsu-gu aimed at resolving the inconvenience of metropolitan public transportation for residents who lack sufficient metropolitan railway networks and creating an opportunity for mutual development between regions.
Accordingly, the district plans to conduct the petition campaign until next month, targeting 120,000 signatures, which is 30% of Yeonsu-gu residents. Residents can participate in the petition by visiting the Dong Administrative Welfare Centers or through the Yeonsu-gu Office website.
