149 Sanctioned Individuals This Time
Maximum Child Support Debt Amounting to 200 Million KRW Range
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced that over the past four years, it has imposed 1,814 sanctions on 735 child support debt defaulters.
On the 21st, the Ministry held the 38th Child Support Enforcement Deliberation Committee meeting and decided on 149 individuals subject to sanctions for child support debt default. A total of 177 sanctions were imposed. There were 115 travel bans, 58 driver's license suspensions, and 4 public disclosures of names.
Among the 149 individuals approved for sanctions this time, the highest child support debt amount was 274 million KRW. The average child support debt amount was approximately 58 million KRW.
Since the sanction system for child support debt defaulters was implemented in October 2021 until this month, there have been 1,030 requests for travel bans. There were 691 requests for driver's license suspensions, and 93 cases of public name disclosures.
