‘Namhaean Namjung Region Eco-friendly Farmers Unity Festival’ Held in Gwangyang
On the 23rd, Family Festival and Talk Concert to be Held as Side Events at Seocheon Riverside Area and Gwangyang Art Warehouse
A festival for eco-friendly farmers in the South Coast Southern Central Region (Yeosu, Suncheon, Gwangyang, Goheung, Boseong in Jeollanam-do, and Jinju, Sacheon, Namhae, Hadong in Gyeongnam) will be held in Gwangyang City, which has established itself as the number one low-carbon organic farming area by winning the Jeollanam-do Eco-friendly Agriculture Grand Prize consecutively twice (2023-2024) and a total of four times, the most awards.
Gwangyang City announced that the 1st South Coast Southern Central Region Eco-friendly Farmers Unity Festival will be held on the 23rd at the Seocheon Riverside area in Gwangyang-eup and the Gwangyang Art Warehouse.

Hosted by the South Coast Southern Central Region Development Council and Gwangyang City, and organized by the Gwangyang Eco-friendly Agriculture Association (President Kang Jeong-hyeong), this event serves as an opportunity for information exchange and building mutual cooperation systems among eco-friendly agriculture members in the South Coast Southern Central Region, with about 470 members and their families participating.
Main events include the reading of a resolution for practicing low-carbon organic farming, an eco-friendly farmers awards ceremony, a vision proclamation ceremony, and a commemorative ceremony, along with a family festival for eco-friendly farmers. As a side event, a talk concert featuring a local eco-friendly agriculture expert (Master Hong Ssang-ri) will be held.
At the event, participants can not only obtain information on excellent cases of eco-friendly agriculture but also encounter organic farming materials for healthy soil and safe food.
Additionally, participants can directly experience the value of eco-friendly agriculture through activities such as tasting eco-friendly roasted chestnuts, eco-friendly pear peeling experience, making eco-friendly beauty products, and sampling organic processed foods.

A Gwangyang City official stated, “In preparation for the concentration of external visitors and buses from various cities and counties, the road section of about 400 meters from Seosan Bridge to the Sang-A Apartment intersection will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the 23rd. We ask for the cooperation of all citizens.”
