KHNP Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Lee Seyong) announced, "At around 7:17 AM on October 19, a safety injection signal occurred at Hanul Unit 4 (1 million kW class)."
Hanul Unit 4 began its 17th planned preventive maintenance on October 18 and was in cooling operation when the operator did not change the set value, causing the safety injection signal to occur.
The reactor is currently maintaining a stable condition, and the detailed cause is being investigated.
