Because he is getting married on December 7th. With less than two months left, he is fully focused on the tour, leaving wedding preparations behind. His fianc?e is handling all the preparations alone.
Mundo-yeop gathered strength. On the 17th, at the Korean Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour The Charity Classic (total prize money 1 billion won) held at Seolhaewon The Legend Course (Par 72, 7,292 yards) in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon, he shot an 8-under-par 64 in the first round. It was an almost perfect play with 8 birdies and no bogeys.
Starting at the 10th hole (Par 4), he made 4 birdies in the front 9 holes and 4 birdies in the back 9 holes, showing stable shots and putting throughout the 18 holes. The 64 strokes are Mundo-yeop's personal lowest 18-hole score this year. He had previously shot 66 twice. This is a clear upward trend following his season-best tied 3rd place at last week's Baeksong Holdings-Asiad CC Busan Open.
In a post-match interview, Mundo-yeop explained, "I changed my method during putting practice to focus on the speed at which the ball rolls. As my finishing putts improved significantly, my results naturally followed." He laughed, saying, "Since I left all the wedding preparations to my fianc?e and just go on tour, I felt I should play well out of guilt." Mundo-yeop added, "I will work hard to lower my score tomorrow just like today," and vowed, "There is a rain forecast, so I will prepare a course strategy that suits the weather."
