Namyangju City Northern Hope Care Center Successfully Concludes 'Uhacheong' Calligraphy Exhibition
The Bukbu Hope Care Center of Namyangju City Social Welfare Center held a calligraphy exhibition on the 11th for the elderly self-help community "Uhacheong - We Can Do It Too, Youth Begins at Seventy!"
The Northern Hope Care Center of the Social Welfare Center in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province (Director Jeon Jeong-su) announced on the 15th that the elderly self-help community "Uhacheong - We Can Do It Too, Youth Starts at Seventy!" (President Go Hyun-sook) successfully held a calligraphy exhibition on the 11th.
This exhibition was conducted through the talent donation of a calligraphy instructor and local volunteer groups. About 150 local residents visited the exhibition, where works prepared by the elderly who learned calligraphy for about 10 months were displayed.
In addition to viewing the works, various programs such as △ calligraphy performance by artist Kim Ji-young △ flower tea experience by activist Kim Chae-rin △ mini bazaar were prepared, receiving great responses from the visitors.
In particular, the proceeds of 603,600 KRW from sales at the exhibition will be used to help neighbors in need within the local community, adding significance to the event.
President Go Hyun-sook said, "I am grateful not only to strengthen the capabilities of the elderly but also to enjoy the joy of sharing together." Director Jeon Jeong-su stated, "I hope this exhibition will be an opportunity to expand the social participation and sharing activities of the elderly."
