The ‘2024 Jazz Festival in Gapyeong,’ hosted by Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won), will kick off in a grand fashion from the 18th to the 20th for three days.

This festival is expected to be a special opportunity for local residents and visitors to come together and fully enjoy the charm of jazz.

From the planning stage, a variety of programs have been prepared, reflecting the passion of jazz lovers and the unique characteristics of the region. Performances held at different venues such as Jatgoeul Market, Heungnongjongmyo Samgeori, Music Station 1939, and Jaraseom Seodo will each create their own distinctive atmosphere, offering audiences an unforgettable experience.

First, the Party Stage at Jatgoeul Market is a lively standing party stage where the audience can freely enjoy themselves. Exciting DJ performances will continue here, allowing attendees to indulge in rhythmic music while enjoying various drinks and snacks.

At Heungnongjongmyo Samgeori, performances by famous jazz artists from both home and abroad will take place. Renowned artists will gather to showcase jazz music infused with their unique personalities, captivating the audience with their moving performances.

Music Station 1939 will host high-quality indoor jazz performances, providing a cozy atmosphere for a sweet and relaxing time. Lastly, the Welcome Post at Jaraseom Seodo will offer an opportunity to discover new talents through passionate performances by local student orchestras and amateur bands.

More than 30 teams, including Omar, Dongbang Jeonryeok, and Steam Down, will participate in this festival, gifting the audience with rich musical experiences. The nightly performance lineups are composed of various styles, allowing visitors to experience the broad appeal of jazz.

A Gapyeong County official stated, “This festival will be more than just a music event; it will be a place where local residents and tourists can communicate and enjoy together. Since this year marks the first time the public sector’s Jazz Festival in Gapyeong and the private sector’s Jaraseom Jazz Festival are being promoted separately, we expect an improvement in the quality of performances.”
