Geumcheon-gu Provides Free Motorcycle Inspections for Delivery Workers Preparing for Winter
On the 10th, Geumcheon-gu Office Conducted Two-Wheeler Safety Inspections and Essential Consumable Replacements
Supported by Coupang Eats Service, Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association, and Seoul Labor Rights Center
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 10th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., a free inspection of two-wheeled vehicles was conducted in front of the Mulcheombeong Shelter at Geumcheon-gu Office to ensure the safety of delivery workers.
This event was held in collaboration with Coupang Eats Service, the Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association, and the Seoul Labor Rights Center. The district also conducted a free inspection of two-wheeled vehicles in May, receiving great response from delivery workers.
Maintenance experts from the Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association conducted precise inspections of the braking and steering devices of two-wheeled vehicles in preparation for winter icy roads, and replaced consumables such as brake pads and lubricants free of charge.
Additionally, Coupang Eats Service newly added inspections of electric two-wheeled vehicle dedicated scanners, and supported eco-friendly operation by providing exhaust gas reduction fuel additives and environmentally certified consumables.
At one side of the event venue, the Geumcheon-gu Workers’ Comprehensive Support Center and the Seoul Workers’ Connection Center set up rest and communication spaces for those waiting for free inspections. The Ministry of Employment and Labor Gwanak Branch provided livelihood and employment support services for mobile workers, and the Seoul Workers’ Health Center offered health consultations for delivery workers, guided various support programs, and provided safety supplies.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We hope that the free safety inspection support project will be helpful to mobile workers using two-wheeled vehicles,” and added, “We will strive to raise social awareness about the safety and accident prevention of mobile workers.”
