Police Refer 32 Incumbent Lawmakers from the 22nd General Election... "Election Law Violation Charges"
The police announced that they have referred 32 incumbent lawmakers suspected of violating the Public Official Election Act during the 22nd general election.
On the 14th, a police official stated, "We investigated 2,203 cases involving 4,076 people related to the general election, referred 1,300 people, and detained 6. Among the elected officials, we investigated 132 and referred 32."
By type of crime, there were 1,509 cases of spreading false information (37%), 729 cases of bribery (17.9%), 205 cases related to banners and posters (7.5%), 154 cases of election violence (3.8%), 141 cases of pre-election campaigning (3.5%), involvement of public officials in elections (2.7%), distribution of printed materials 82 cases (2%), and illegal mobilization of groups 53 cases (1.3%), among others.
