Gyeongan-dong in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 14th that it successfully held the "6th Gyeongan Residents' Harmony Festival" at the multipurpose plaza within the Gwangju Patriotic Veterans Park on the 12th under the slogan "All Together! Closer!"
This event, held for the first time in six years due to COVID-19, drew great anticipation from the residents. Attendees included Mayor Bang Se-hwan, National Assembly member So Byung-hoon, City Council Chair Heo Kyung-haeng, provincial and city council members, and local residents.
The Residents' Day event proceeded in the order of pre-ceremony performances, opening ceremony, and cultural events (invited singer performances, residents' singing contest, and cheerful sports day). The festival atmosphere was heightened by performances such as Nanta, Zumba dance, and sports dance prepared by Gyeongan-dong resident autonomy program participants, followed by a senior fashion show.
Following the invited singer performances, 12 Gyeongan residents participated in the singing contest to showcase their vocal talents, and the cheerful sports day became a harmonious gathering for local residents.
Leaders of six organizations in Gyeongan-dong expressed their sentiments, saying, "It is meaningful to create a venue for harmony through the Residents' Day event, held for the first time since 2018."
