LG OLED TV Exhibits Climate Change Artworks at Frieze London
Participation in 'Frieze London' from 9th to 13th

Artwork composed with five 97-inch OLED Evo displays
LG Electronics participated in the global art fair 'Frieze London 2024' and showcased climate change-related works using LG OLED Evo. They created a large-scale artwork with five 97-inch (approximately 245 cm diagonal) OLED TVs.

LG Electronics announced on the 11th that it collaborated with British film director John Akampra to create a 160㎡ 'LG OLED Lounge' at Frieze London, held for five days from the 9th (local time) in Regent's Park, London, UK.
The large-scale artwork "Becoming the Wind," realized with five 97-inch OLED Evo TVs, filled one wall. It provided visitors with an immersive experience as if they were in a movie theater. The work presented the once abundant ecosystem and its current unstable state in a film format. The OLED Evo helped convey the message by delivering perfect blacks in black-and-white footage and accurate color representation in color footage.
Director Akampra said about choosing the LG OLED TV as a "digital canvas," "The ideal picture and sound quality of LG OLED TV add depth and realism to the work, guiding viewers to a new experience."
OLED TVs are products made by reducing plastic usage and carbon emissions. They use fewer resources compared to LCD TVs, which require backlights. The 65-inch (165 cm diagonal) OLED Evo uses 60% less plastic than an LCD TV of the same size. This reduces carbon emissions generated during production and transportation.
LG OLED TVs have received environmental product certifications for four consecutive years from the UK certification body Carbon Trust and the Swiss certification body SGS.
Additionally, two 77-inch (approximately 195 cm diagonal) OLED Evo TVs were placed at the left and right entrances of the exhibition hall. On one side, a video showing the collaboration process between the artist and LG OLED was played. On the other side, a video explaining the artist's work was introduced.
